Local Schools and Universities


ASU

Arizona State University (also referred to as ASU, or Arizona State) is the largest public research university in the United States, with a 2010 student enrollment of over 70,000.   ASU is spread across four campuses in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area.

ASU was founded in 1885 as the Tempe Normal School for the Arizona Territory in Tempe, Arizona.

University of Arizona The University of Arizona was the first university in the state of Arizona, founded in 1885 (twenty-seven years before the Arizona Territory achieved statehood).  Currently, there are over 35,000 students enrolled.
Maricopa County Community Colleges The Maricopa County Community College system consists of 10 colleges, 2 skill centers and numerous education centers, all dedicated to educational excellence and to meeting the needs of businesses and the citizens of Maricopa County.  The nearest to us is Scottsdale Community College.
Scottsdale Unified School District The Scottsdale Unified School District has 31 schools serving about 26,000 students. More than 3,000 persons are employed by the district, including about 1,700 teachers.   The district celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1996. Its boundaries include most, but not all, of the city of Scottsdale.
Basis Schools Scottsdale BASIS Scottsdale offers students a world class educational option right here in the valley. Founded in 2003, BASIS Scottsdale  was ranked the Top Arizona High School for Overall Academic Performance in 2009 by BusinessWeek.
Founded in 2002, Notre Dame Prep schools offers a challenging college preparatory curriculum that promotes academic excellence, instills moral values, and encourages lifelong service.
