Arizona State University (also referred to as ASU, or Arizona
State) is the largest public research university in the United
States, with a 2010 student enrollment of over 70,000.
ASU is spread across four campuses in the Phoenix
Metropolitan Area.
ASU was founded in 1885 as the Tempe Normal School for the
Arizona Territory in Tempe, Arizona.

university in the state of Arizona, founded in 1885 (twenty-seven
years before the Arizona Territory achieved statehood).

Colleges |
The Maricopa County Community College system consists of 10
colleges, 2 skill centers and numerous education centers, all
dedicated to educational excellence and to meeting the needs of
businesses and the citizens of Maricopa County. The nearest to
us is Scottsdale Community College. |

School District |
The Scottsdale Unified School District has 31 schools serving about
26,000 students. More than 3,000 persons are employed by the
district, including about 1,700 teachers. The district
celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1996. Its boundaries include
most, but not all, of the city of Scottsdale. |
