Welcome to Carino Canyon
HOA Board Meeting -
Thursday, Dec 29, 2011
The Carino Canyon HOA conducted a
Board Meeting on Thursday afternoon, December 29, 2011. The
agenda for the meeting was to discuss the results of the consents
received for the proposed installation of
the Faux Cactus Distributed Antenna System.
The results as of
December 29th, 2011, are: - 82 homeowners gave their
consent (exceeding the 2/3 majority required) -
Verizon Wireless will be the second subscriber (AT&T is the first)
The Carino Canyon HOA Board unanimously agreed to enter into the
lease (details below). We expect that once the lease agreement
is signed and notarized, that construction will likely start very
soon in the new year.
Installation of Distributed Antenna System Faux
Cactus
In January of 2011, there were
discussions about the installation of a Distributed Antenna System
(DAS) cell phone antenna inside Carino Canyon. The vendor, NewPath/Crown
Castle, installed a DAS antenna at the entrance to the community,
but their subscriber (AT&T) had not agreed to the second antenna
inside the development.
Now, NewPath/Crown Castle is ready
to move forward with this project; and they have the necessary
carriers signed on. Presently, AT&T is the first carrier and others
are in negotiation to utilize the antenna system.
What
are the benefits of allowing a faux cactus antenna in the NAOS?
NewPath/Crown Castle has installed an
antenna on the light pole at the entrance to Carino Canyon. That
antenna provides improved coverage for cell phone signals to many
residents residents in our development, but a second antenna is
required to deliver the desired level of improvement to the entire
community. The additional benefits to the community include:
- Annual revenue for leasing the property of $3,000
per year - Enhanced property values
- Ability to provide 4G service
What will the faux cactus antenna look
like?
The photo at the right is a depiction
of the new faux cactus. This is a retouched photo of the existing
background with the faux cactus superimposed over the front. As you
can see, it should blend in nicely with the existing flora and Crown
Castle will assure that the landscaping is enhanced to hide any of
the infrastructure from view. You can see a faux cactus installed
at 136th Street and Gold Dust (at the entrance of La Colina).
What cellular providers
are using the antenna system?
The current
subscriber is AT&T. NewPath/Crown Castle has informed us that the
construction of the second antenna is a pre-requisite for other
cellular providers on the network (e.g., Sprint, Verizon and
T-Mobile). Without the second antenna, attracting these other
providers is not likely.
What measure should the residents take at this time?
All residents / owners are asked to complete the consent
form mailed to the address of record and return it to the HOA. You
can return your consent or give it to a member of the Board. Click
the link below to view or download a copy of the consent form.
